This means that instead of using chemicals to fertilize the plants, they allow native plants and herbs to grow alongside the plants instead of being pulled as weeds. The high elevation gives this tea an amber, medium-bodied tea that has a slight floral aroma. It also has a distinct spicy flavor that is full of tannins helping to give this tea its characteristic bite.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTo help round out the blend, we use a South Indian Nilgiri tea grown south of the Western Ghats mountains. While not a high elevation tea, this particular farm is in the hills of the Nilgiris District giving it a strong flavor with a full body. This style of vanilla is the most popular variety in the world. The flavor actually has nothing to do with bourbon. It was named so because it is grown on Bourbon Island (now Réunion Island) in the Indian Ocean off the East Coast of Africa. Madagascar Vanilla has a creamy, sweet, and velvety flavor that is commonly found in ice cream and Crème Brûlée. While the exact process is a secret, the tea is stored deep underground in special caves that have the perfect temperature and humidity.
