In fact, this tea was invented when our Owner was on a “business trip” to Vienna, Austria. After having a really rough day of going to the Vienna Opera House, he stopped by a café for some of their renowned apple tarts with a thick vanilla cream called shlag. Noticing that the locals add the cream to their coffee, he decided to do the same to the mint tea he was drinking. And guess what? It was delicious. The creamy vanilla tempered the sharp mint and the two flavors melded almost perfectly. The vanilla bean we chose for this blend was a bourbon vanilla out of Madagascar, a large island off the coast of Africa. Our spearmint comes from both Oregon and Washington. This region has become popular for their fantastic mint due to the dry desert climate which enhances the flavor and discourages some of the problems humid climates cause the plants.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOur Yunnan is from the high mountains of Zhenyuan in the Simao Prefecture, China. These mountains provide a thick mist that condenses the flavors of the tea giving it a medium body with delicate lilac notes and a hint of maltiness. Lastly, our gunpowder tea comes from the Zhejiang Province in China.
